Julian Garrido
Instrumental Music Director
Mr. Garrido grew up in San Diego, California, and moved to Orange County to complete his Bachelors of Music in Music Education and Clarinet Performance and Master of Arts in Teaching at Chapman University. During his time at Chapman, he performed as part of The Chapman Orchestra, Wind Symphony, Big Band, Clarinet Ensemble, and Woodwind Quintet, and cofounded Mariachi Panteras. He has also performed in various other bands and orchestras around Southern California, including Symphony Irvine and the Placentia Symphonic Band. He has worked with students at all levels of music, including Elementary, Middle, and High School at schools in Long Beach, Huntington Beach, Placentia-Yorba Linda, Santa Ana, and Garden Grove.
Mr. Garrido began his tenure as Instrumental Music Director at Garden Grove High School in 2022. He enjoys continuing to develop the GGHS Instrumental Music program around the cornerstones of musical excellence, unity, integrity, and legacy. His classes and extracurricular groups include: the Argonaut Marching Band, Symphonic Band, Chamber Orchestra, String Orchestra, Beginning Strings, Symphony Orchestra, Jazz Band, and Winter Drumline.
